Editing an Existing Unit

Wendy Hisel -

Sometimes, you may find that you want to edit the name, description, or maximum capacity of a specific unit. To do this, you would change it within unit configuration.

From any page, click on 'Configuration' from the toolbar on the left:

From the Configuration screen, select 'Units' from under the 'Units' header:

From the Units screen, select the unit you wish to edit. Within that unit are several fields that can be edited:

The short name is the name that you see on the left side of the occupancy map. We also have a letter code that can reflect this information.

The Name is what the guest sees when they are booking online. We also have a letter code that can reflect this information.

The Description is a brief description of the room that guests will see when they are booking online. We also have a letter code that can reflect this information.

The Alternate description will not show up on the booking engine. We also have a letter code that can reflect this information, and it is perfect for unit-specific instructions that you only want a reserved guest to see.

Property is the unit group that the unit belongs to.

Rate Plan reflects the rate plan that the unit is assigned to. You can choose any existing rate plans from the drop down menu. To see the specific rate settings for the rate plan, or to make changes, go to Configuration > Rate Plans, and select the rate plan you wish to view.

Revenue Account is the revenue account that the unit is assigned to.

Maximum Capacity is the total number of guests that are able to stay in that unit.

Maximum Guests allows you to specify the number of adults, children, or other existing guest types that can stay in the unit, specifically - this allows you to create units that will only allow adults.
